Description:

Seagate is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc drives for enterprise, PC and consumer electronics applications.

As a globally-distributed company, Seagate sought to create an internal system that would tie together various design teams in different locations, to capitalize on the diversity of knowledge and experience held within the company. They also hoped that such a system could increase visibility around different drive and component design activities.

V2 Group began to tackle Seagate's needs by undertaking a thorough interview process with a diverse group of engineers. Based on information collected during the interview process, a prototype which demonstrated the system's functionality and user-interface was developed. The prototype was used to keep the Seagate initiative highly visible and on track, while at the same time being a perfect vehicle for validation testing with potential users.

My role with this product was to synthesize the business needs coming from Seagate's upper-level management with the end-user and development team's needs and priorities. I led the design and development of an efficient model for the portal itself, generated a prioritized list of features, and created a plan for development and roll-out.
